12  February, 2009 I wanted to share an experience that helped me to see that God could use these poems for his honor and glory.  Several years ago I gave the poem ‘Walking on Water’ to a friend that was at my brother’s house.  I did not know him at the time.  Shortly after I gave him the poem, he spoke with me privately and said that his wife was out of town for the weekend.  He told me that he had been planning to have an affair this particular weekend with a girlfriend from high school that he had been secretly seeing for sometime.  The words of the poem must have convicted him because he told me he was not going to have the affair and was going to build his relationship with his wife.  I knew then that God was speaking.  Jeff Messick

God is gracious!  He has surrounded me with much love and encouragement through each of them.    Life has taken me to many places although North Carolina has always been my home.  My childhood, college (Appalachian University), military service (US Army) and residence have all been in this state.    As you travel this website, I hope that more of me will be seen through my love for others.  There is not enough time or space on this website to describe my 52 years of existence.   However, I would like to share some thoughts concerning a gift that I so deeply feel that the Lord has given me.  It is a poetry that many have told me is Holy Spirit inspired.  It speaks of faith, hope and love.
