Dear Jeff,
I wanted to let you know how very much you were a gift from God to me yesterday! I do not believe that it was just a “coincidence” that I felt “lost” and sad and was praying for help from the Lord and then you were there at the restaurant I went to for lunch and we met. I really enjoyed meeting you and talking with you so much, and your conversation and you reading some of your poems to me lifted my spirits so much!
Then last evening I was able to sit down at home and read all of your poems….many of them I read several times. J Your poems were so comforting to me and the more I read, the more I felt the closeness of the Holy Spirit indwelling in me and restoring my soul. The Lord has truly given you a gift of expressing yourself through poetry, and I thank you so much for sharing your heart with me and giving me your wonderful book!

Whenever I see verses in the bible that mentions stone, it grasps my attention. Psalm 118 verse 22 states, “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.” I understand the significance of a corner stone because my occupation for the last 20 years has been stone masonry. Three other stone masons have worked with me during this period of time. They also have a commitment and love for Jesus Christ as I do. Their names are Eddie Matthews, Joe Shropshire and Ronnie Williams.

I pray that one day doors will open for me to go into a fulltime ministry using my masonry skills. I would love to travel with church mission groups overseas and within our own country to help with building projects and evangelism. By the way - I will always keep my heart open for another christian poem to comfort someone and to glorify God. |
